Position: Full-Time Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor (Permanent, Tenure Track or Tenured) or a visiting appointment for up to three years.
Qualification: Ph.D. or equivalent, does research in Finance or relevant areas or economics such as banking, central banking and insurance.
The Institute of Financial Studies:
The IFS at SWUFE aspires to the highest level of financial research, under the leadership of Philip H. Dybvig and Jun Liu. We now have eight assistant professors, who are already productive in research, and we seek to expand our group. We back up our commitment to research with a summer program that brings in top scholars to help the local scholars, a light teaching load, and compensation with substantial incentive pay for research success.
Compensation for new PhDs includes base salary and incentive pay based on publication success, a start-up research grant, housing allowance, and other fringe benefits. SWUFE is located in beautiful Chengdu, a city that is famous for its good food, relaxed atmosphere, and low cost of living. Favorable tax treatment may make a visiting appointment attractive to western scholars seeking a change of venue in an institution highly supportive of research.
