About the speaker:
Dr. Kevin (Yong Kyu) Gam is an Assistant Professor in Finance at College of Business, University College Dublin. Prior to joining UCD, he held positions as an Assistant/Associate Professor in Finance at the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. Before embarking on his academic career, Dr. Gam worked at the financial supervisory authority in South Korea. Dr. Gam earned his doctorate in Finance from Washington University in St. Louis. He holds a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Seoul National University. His research centers on banking, financial intermediation and corporate finance, with an emphasis on financial stability, credit markets, and sustainability. He has published his work in international scholarly journals, including Management Science, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Journal of Banking & Finance, among others. Dr. Gam currently serves as the Programme Director for the MSc in Finance and as Director of the UCD Centre for Financial Markets.
