About the speaker:
Zhen Zhou is an Associate Professor at the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University. He serves as Academic Director of the Ph.D. Program, Associate Director of the Center for Monetary Policy and Financial Stability, and Associate Director of the Center for Industrial Finance. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from New York University in 2016, a master's degree in Economics from Tsinghua University in 2010, and a bachelor's degree in Economics from Fudan University in 2008. Dr. Zhou's research spans applied theory and information economics, with applications in corporate finance, financial intermediation, and financial regulation. His work has been published in top journals, including the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Economic Theory, and Games and Economic Behavior. He serves as the principal investigator for several projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), including the Excellent Young Scientists Fund and the Innovative Research Group Program.
Dr. Zhou's research has received multiple academic and industry honors, including the 8th Zhang Peigang Award for Young Scholars in Development Economics, the 9th Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award (Humanities and Social Sciences), the Best Paper Award at the Annual Conference on Financial Technology in China, the Excellent Research Award and Innovation Achievement Award from the China Information Economics Society, and the PwC 3535 Forum Best Paper Award. He also received the Wu Jiapei Research Support Grant of China Information Economics Society, where he also serves as a board member.
Dr. Zhou currently serves as a program committee member for several major Chinese conferences, including the China International Conference in Macroeconomics (CICM), the China Financial Research Conference (CFRC), and the China Meeting of Game Theory and Applications (CMG-TA). He also serves as a reviewer for the Hong Kong Research Grant Council and the NSFC.
