About the speaker:
Cheng Wang is a Professor of Economics at School of Economics, Fudan University. He holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from Fudan University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He previously served as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at the Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business, and as Associate Professor and Full Professor of Economics at Iowa State University. His long-standing research focuses on macroeconomics and dynamic contract theory, spanning domains such as macro-finance, labor market theory and policy, unemployment insurance, executive compensation, and foundational theories of dynamic contracting. His work has been published in leading economics journals including American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Monetary Economics, and International Economic Review. As an early contributor to dynamic contract theory, he made significant advances in this critical area of economic literature and its applications in macroeconomics. His current research explores optimal termination theory in dynamic contracting relationships, China’s financial system, sovereign debt default, endogenous business cycles, and blockchain-based contracts.
