Speaker: Prof. Todd A. Gormley from Washington University in St. Louis

About the speaker:

Todd a. Gormley received his Ph.D. in economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology University IN 2006. He was an assistant professor at Washington University in St. Louis and University of Pennsylvania. Now he moved back Washington University in st. Louis. His research focuses on two broad issues. First, why managers sometimes fail to act in the best interest of shareholders, and what governance arrangements can mitigate these conflicts. Second, how competition in the financial sector affects access to credit and incentives for economic actors. He is a member of the American economic association, the association of American Financial and society, the study of financial intermediation. His research interests include Corporate Governance, Empirical Methods, Risk, Banking and Development. And he is an editor and co-editor of Review of Financial Studies and Review of Finance.
